A working meeting was held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, is today on an official visit to the County of Istria, during which a working meeting was held with the County of Istria, Boris Miletić, and several current topics of great importance for the County were discussed: the green transition and energy sustainability of Istria ; ecological pollution of the Ližnjan coast; construction of emergency medical facilities in seven Istrian cities and cooperation with the Izola General Hospital; the construction of the Zonka fishing port in Štinjan and the rehabilitation of the Pula breakwater, as well as the management of state property in the area of towns and municipalities of the Istrian County.
Regarding the green transition and energy sustainability, it was pointed out that the County of Istria, in cooperation with the Energy Platform Living Lab at FER, is developing a project for the purpose of sustainable energy development in the county, and the construction of several energy plants of renewable energy sources is planned, among other things. , that is, solar energy. In view of the energy crisis, the drastic increase in energy prices, and climate change, representatives of the County of Istria requested support for the project from the Government of the Republic of Croatia. As announced, the intention is to submit a request for the declaration of the mentioned project as a strategic project of the Republic of Croatia, at the moment when it reaches the required level of realization. On this point, the presentation "Sustainable energy development of the County of Istria - Framework of the investment program of sustainable development" was held, in which the current state of the Istrian electricity system was presented, as well as guidelines for the implementation of sustainable development, and what are the next steps and expected results. It was concluded that the key to the direction of development lies in locally produced, sustainable, reliable and affordable energy in combination with energy saving and e-mobility settings, for which the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković provided full support.
