One of the largest wind parks in the region starts operation

Wind power plant Čibuk 1 marked the start of commercial operation. The farm consists of 57 wind turbines with an overall net capacity of 158 MW. The project was a joint venture between Serbian based Vjetroelektrane Balkana and UAE’s Masdar. Overall capital costs amounted to almost €300 million. The unit should have an average annual production of 430 GWh.
The Serbian Government outlined that the unit is a strong step towards achieving the country’s goal of having a 27% share of renewables in final energy consumption.
